Gavin P. Dunn, MD, PhD, an assistant professor of neurosurgery, has been elected to the Society for Neuro-Oncology Board of Directors as the “Young Investigator” representative.
Dunn specializes in brain tumors and is a member of the interdisciplinary Andrew M. and Jane M. Bursky Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs. His research is focused on the immunobiology of malignant glioma with the goal of translating findings to clinical trials and treatment of the disease.
The Society for Neuro-Oncology is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to promoting advances in neuro-oncology through research and education. It is considered the premier North American organization for clinicians, basic scientists, nurses and other health care professionals whose focus is central nervous system tumors in children and adults.
Dunn also serves on the executive committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Tumor Section.
