Neurosurgery resident Bhuvic Patel wins NREF 2019-20 Research Fellowship Grant

The Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation and American Academy of Neurological Surgery (AAcNS) have presented the 2019-2020 NREF Research Fellowship Grant to Washington University neurosurgery resident Bhuvic Patel, MD. Dr. Patel will investigate biomarkers and mechanisms of radiation resistance in Grade II meningiomas. Patel will report on his research progress at the 2020 AAcNS meeting.

Medical students choose Dr. David Limbrick for humanism award

David D. Limbrick, MD, PhD, an associate professor of neurological surgery and of pediatrics, received a Distinguished Service Teaching Award on Oct. 27 in a ceremony on the Medical Campus. He was the students’ nominee for the national Humanism in Medicine Award, which is presented annually by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
