WashU Neurosurgery Ranked No. 6 in Nation for NIH Funding

WashU Neurosurgery Consistently Ranks Among the Nation’s Top Institutions for NIH Research Funding

The Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR) has released its yearly comprehensive analysis of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) support for institutions, departments, and investigators, with the rankings based on funding received from the NIH.

We are proud to announce that our world-class researchers have secured WashU Neurosurgery’s position as the 6th ranked department among all neurosurgery departments in the nation. Furthermore, two of our Principal Investigators ranked in the top 15: Hong Chen, PhD, who placed 10th, and Gregory Zipfel, MD, who placed 15th. We are immensely proud of our brilliant, collaborative, and dedicated faculty and their ongoing strides in research.
