Clinical & research interests

I am broadly interested in translational and computational approaches to understanding, diagnosing, and treating primary malignant brain tumors:

  • Glioblastoma
  • Low grade gliomas
  • Brain tumor biology
  • Brain tumor genetics and genomics
  • Molecular mechanisms of tumor cell behavior
  • Lipidomics

One particular focus of my research is novel magnetic resonance imaging techniques for neuro-oncology:

  • Translational applications of brain and spine MRI
  • Diffusion MRI
  • Diffusion basis spectrum imaging
  • Diffusion histology imaging

I also use advanced statistical and data science methods to drive improvements in neuro-oncology and neurosurgery:

  • Biomarker discovery and validation
  • Machine learning
  • Artificial intelligence
