Making a Difference

The Making a Difference program provides a unique way to recognize staff who go above and beyond to advance the Department of Neurosurgery mission to provide the best neurosurgical patient care possible.

February 2022 Nominees

Lisa Fitzgerald
I want to give a shout out to Lisa Fitzgerald.  I think she is doing a fantastic job following up on missed referral requests and she is very pleasant to work with.

Kathleen Brown
I wanted to reach out and nominate Kathleen Brown for her hard work and being a great co-worker.  She is always willing to help out, never complains and keeps a smile all day long! I really appreciate all she does with check out and helping our patient’s arrange their appointments and imaging! I always look forward to working with her! Thank you, Kathleen!

Derek Li
I would like to nominate our PGY3 Resident Derek Li, MD for making a difference. He is a team player and goes above and beyond to help the entire team.

Mersiha Menkovic
I would like to nominate Mersiha Menkovic for the Making a Difference award. She works tirelessly for Pediatric Neurosurgery, and throughout the pandemic, she has been the one that we have depended on. We appreciate it more than we can express. She is the heart of Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Tori Greenberg
She is always ready and willing to jump in and help out. She keeps a positive attitude, is really funny, and likes to motivate others. It’s great having her around the office and has been such a great addition to the department for the last two years. She is definitely someone people can rely on to get things done.

Jaime Morrell-Vinas
Even though Jaime has only been here a few weeks she is jumping in with both feet, right into the deep end. She is chipper, willing to learn new things all the time, and eager to keep going. Can’t wait to see what she does in the future.

Emily Westerfeld
THIS RN ROCKS! She works hard, keeps things moving, and works well with the whole team. She knows her stuff. She treats the patients well. She keeps the docs on track. The Vascular group is lucky to have her.

We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who nominated a co-worker! To recognize someone, staff and faculty can submit nominations at the Making a Difference email address
