William S. Coxe, MD

The William S. Coxe Memorial Lectureship was formed in 2012 with the intent of bringing internationally recognized speakers whose careers have been focused on neurological surgery to WashU. Dr. Coxe was a faculty member in the department of neurosurgery from 1957 to 1997.

T.S. Park, MD

Tae Sung (T.S.) Park, MD, was a renowned neurosurgeon who pioneered a surgical technique that improved the lives of thousands of children worldwide. Park joined the WashU Neurosurgery faculty in 1989. For more than 35 years, he helped build the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital into one of the best in the nation. Families traveled from around the world seeking his care for their children. The Park Lecture was an opportunity for alumni from the pediatric neurosurgery fellowship to discuss their research and careers.

Ralph G. Dacey, Jr., MD

For 30 years, Ralph G. Dacey, Jr., MD, served as the Chair of Neurosurgery and was a prolific and innovative physician-scientist at WashU Medicine. He trained and mentored premier residents who became some of America’s foremost clinical and research neurosurgeons. In 2020, Dr. Dacey generously created a lectureship in his name that would provide residents, fellows and faculty of the department a forum to present and discuss their research. Awards are given to the residents with the best clinical and best basic science presentations. Each year, a nationally-renowned neurosurgeon is invited to give the keynote address at the symposium and help judge the presentations.

Robert L. Grubb, Jr., MD

The Robert L. and Julia D. Grubb Lecture was established in 2021 as a forum for alumni of the WashU Medicine neurosurgery residency program to share their career paths with current residents. Dr. Grubb was a faculty member in the department from 1973-2008.
