Noted surgeon built a successful skull base practice over three decades of service
After spending more than 30 years of his professional career at the Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, first as a neurosurgery resident and later as a faculty member in the department of neurosurgery, Michael R. Chicoine, MD, is making a career change to become the new Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Chicoine’s impact on the neurosurgery department, the School of Medicine and the patients and families he serves is immeasurable. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will endure.
