Neurosurgery resident Bhuvic Patel wins NREF 2019-20 Research Fellowship Grant

The Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation and American Academy of Neurological Surgery (AAcNS) have presented the 2019-2020 NREF Research Fellowship Grant to Washington University neurosurgery resident Bhuvic Patel, MD. Dr. Patel will investigate biomarkers and mechanisms of radiation resistance in Grade II meningiomas. Patel will report on his research progress at the 2020 AAcNS meeting.

Gregory Zipfel named head of neurosurgery

Zipfel, MD, a noted expert on aneurysms and other disorders of blood vessels in the brain, has been named head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
