Latest NIH rankings highlight the department’s national leadership and the strength of its top-funded investigators.
The Taylor Family Department of Neurosurgery at WashU Medicine has ranked #3 nationally in NIH funding among all neurosurgery departments in the country.
Three of our Principal Investigators are ranked in the top 15 nationally in NIH funding among neurosurgery investigators:
- Alexander Stegh, PhD – #4
- Hong Chen, PhD – #8
- Gregory Zipfel, MD – #14
According to the latest analysis released by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research, these rankings are based on funding from the National Institutes of Health and reflect the strength, impact, and innovation of our research enterprise.
