Washington University Neurosurgery welcomes new spine surgeon

The Department of Neurosurgery at Washington University is excited to announce that John I. Ogunlade, DO, will join the spine division in July 2022. Ogunlade will lead the spine endoscopy team at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital and other community hospitals.

“Dr. Ogunlade’s expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery will give patients access to a surgical approach that allows for a rapid recovery time and quicker return to normal activities,” said Wilson Zachary Ray, MD, Chief of the Division of Spine Surgery. “Dr. Ogunlade brings a comprehensive approach to patients dealing with degenerative spinal diseases, addressing the health of the whole patient and ensuring the best treatment for them. We are so fortunate to welcome him to the WashU team.”

Ogunlade obtained his undergraduate degree in 2009 and his medical degree in 2014 from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2021, he completed his neurosurgery residency at Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. Currently, Ogunlade serves as an acting instructor at the University of Washington Department of Neurological Surgery in Seattle, Washington.
