Congratulations to David Bundy, PhD, on receiving an NIH R01 award for his project, “Examining the Impact of Lesion Location and Extent on Post-Stroke Neuroplasticity.”
Stroke is a leading cause of disability in the United States, but differences in the location and extent of brain injury can make it challenging to understand the mechanisms underlying recovery.
Dr. Bundy’s research will examine how damage to different brain regions influences cortical reorganization and motor recovery following stroke. By better understanding how stroke characteristics affect the brain’s ability to reorganize and recover, this work will provide critical information needed to develop novel, patient-specific therapies to restore function after brain injury.
