Dacey honored with auditorium and award named after him

On Nov. 14, family, friends and colleagues of Ralph G. Dacey, Jr., MD, gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Dacey Auditorium on the 8th floor of the Mid Campus Center at the Washington University School of Medicine.

Internationally renowned for his expertise as a neurosurgeon, educator, and researcher, Dacey led the Department of Neurosurgery at the School of Medicine for 30 years. Now, every future faculty member, resident and staff who pass through our halls will recognize the innumerable contributions Dr. Dacey has made to the WashU Dept. of Neurosurgery.

In addition, Chief Resident Rupen Desai, MD, was presented with the inaugural Dr. Ralph G. Dacey Neurosurgeon Scholar Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize and promote the development of a neurosurgery resident, as both an outstanding clinician and scientific investigator.
