Christian Hospital welcomes neurosurgeon Kumar Vasudevan, MD

Vasudevan previously practiced in Atlanta, GA, where his clinician peers selected him as one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors for 2023.

Kumar Vasudevan, MD, a fellowship-trained, board certified neurosurgeon, has moved his practice to Christian Hospital and officially joined the WashU Neurosurgery faculty as an assistant professor.

Vasudevan earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Brown University in Providence, RI. He completed his neurosurgery residency and neurocritical care fellowship at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, and a fellowship in skull base neuro-oncology at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Vasudevan provides state-of-the-art spine care focusing on the latest multidisciplinary treatments to restore and maintain a patient’s quality of life.

Vasudevan’s interest in neurosurgery began as a child after witnessing his grandmother’s struggle against a severe brain tumor. The kindness and skill his grandmother’s neurosurgeon showed their family through every step of the process laid the groundwork for his modern, compassionate care.

When treating his patients, Vasudevan holds to three pillars: honesty, collaboration, and diligence. He believes he is a doctor first and a surgeon second, meaning he considers all diagnoses and treatment options, both surgical and non-surgical, for each patient. He prides himself on excellent communication with patients, their families, and their providers.

Vasudevan is currently accepting new patients for spine care. To schedule an appointment or to learn more about the conditions he treats, please call 314-953-8340.
